My Bio
I guess you could say it all started when I was only a child. Everystory starts with a memory..mine is of course a dollhouse.. My grandmother had once possessed an old wooden 1 inch dollhouse that I used to play with, when I was forced into staying over at her home in greenfeild Indiana. Of course I loved it and wanted to take it home everytime my family was over. I remember setting up the dollhouse kitchen with the old plastic furniture that you can find at many doller stores and floating around on ebay. At times I look back and think of its old dusty shingles and thin plastic windows that always fell apart. In retrospect looking back on it now and thinking of the kinds of houses I build, and their quality, her house was probably what most people call cheap! In anycase, when I started school and stopped going over to my grandmothers, Her dollhouse and all of my memories were only used to collect dust in the attic of her one story ranch house. In the winter of 2013, I was beginning my last semester of high school and happened to be thinking about spring. I wondered what it would be like to have a "fairy garden" around the house so using google I did some reasearch on fairy garden miniatures". Soon enough I figured if Iwas going to spend all of that money on furnishing a fairy garden...and keeping it alive,I might as well build a dollhouse. After all it had always been my dream to have my own. After doing more reasearch on dollhouses and how you come about building them, I found a website for "The Museum of Miniature Houses and other collections" In carmel indiana (where I am from). I then recalled that my grandmother (the same one who owned the rinky dink dollhouse) had taken me there when I was much younger. In Febuary of that year I began my volunteer work with the museaum, which led to many new miniaturist friends, as well as many hunderads of dollers in miniatures. Time passed, by the time I graduated from high school only 5 months later I owned 3 dollhouses, 4 room boxes, and an UNBUILT "QUEEN ANNE DOLLHOUSE KIT"! By this time I had also attended my first miniature show, which happened to be "The International Bishop Show", as well as another show that same trip called "The Three Blind Mice Show". Summer passed and after attending a semester of college, I decided that it was time for me to find myself..and to find myself I needed to find my inner miniaturist. I have now started to take art classes online. Many of which have helped me which my miniature endeavors. I opened my shop on etsy in Janurary of 2014 nearly a year after beginning my journy with miniatures. And so here we are, I am learning everyday. About expenses, matterials..and how much I love what I do. I work in the basment of my parents 2 story house. I haved worked there from the time i started to this very. I have little sunlight, however I do enjoy the ammount of space I have. Which I admit is running low. I now own..lets see..about 5-7 dollhouses..including a circa 1929 dollhouse..farmhouse and many others. I also own many more roomboxes than I did a year ago. I believe that one day I will have built and sold over 100 dollhouses. Thats my goal. Anyway back to the studio..It is crammed wall to wall in a small area of our unfinished basement. Theres absolutly no storage..and no where to put anything..but I love it..because when I go down there I can escape. However I don't love it enough. With flooding issues..and bugs..I have lost many matierals and alittle bit of sanity. I will be moving my workspace soon! Hopefully I will find a better place for it. To get back to my story. Simply Sweet Minis was founded the January of 2014 as I said. I specialize in making Miniature Signs/ pictures/ handpaintings/ sewing projects/ houses/ appliances/ food/ nick nacs/ and many other things. The story of this store..is not about how I put up a shop on etsy cause I was bored. It is more of the story of my life with miniatures..and how it has influnced me to share my talents with my friends, family, and even those who I do not know. Miniatures are my life..sadly..and greatfully. I founded simply sweet minis on the idea that miniatures can create a new exhistance in our perception of what a dollhouse really is. But in a simple way..because after all. The only things I can make are..

Simple. Sweet. and Miniature

sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I decided to drop out for many reasons. The most important of which is the fact that I am just not good at being in a classroom situation. I took online classes through high school and decided to move onto online classes for college.. I am now taking classes at full sail university online. But yeah thats why I spend my time making miniatures.
I'm a little bit uncomfortable purchasing miniature goods from someone so young and without a college degree. Could you elaborate on why you dropped out?
I just sent you a reply to eleborate why I deiced to drop out..and switch to online classes.
